Jim Anderson is an impact investor and serial entrepreneur specializing in financial services and agriculture. His investments are aligned with his interest in developing countries in Africa stemming from many years experience working and teaching there early in his career. His investments can be financial or contributions of “sweat equity”.

Jim has more than 20 years experience as a banker, investment banker, asset manager and financial advisor working with a wide range of companies on four continents principally in the technology sector.

In 2014, he moved to Africa to work helping small plot farmers and women improve their economic conditions. In 2017, he was Country Director in Mali for an organization serving 30,000 farmers.

Jim recently relocated to Conakry, Guinée, and is working to set up incubators for Guinean entrepreneurs.

His weekly commentary, “Postcard from the Telecosm”, was a popular read for more than 5,000 executives in the U.S. and abroad. Jim was a frequent public speaker on politics, the economy and technology. His thoughts have appeared in MarketWatch, Venture Capital Journal, SeekingAlpha, CFO Magazine, The Huffington Post and the editorial pages of the Wall Street Journal.

Jim has a BA in math from the State University of New York, an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and a MS in International Development Economics from the University of San Francisco. He received a CFA designation from the Association of Investment Management and Research but recently renounced his charter.
